Yggdrasil Strikes Retail Supply Deal with Finnish Operator, Veikkaus

An agreement has been reached between popular online casino solutions provider Yggdrasil, and Veikkaus, the current Finnish gaming operator. The arrangement is that of a Gaming IP License, and the aim is to get the retail gaming segment.

As of 2019, Veikkaus, the state-owned gaming operator, has a GGR of approximately EUR 1.691 million.

What the Deal Entails

Through the Veikkaus terminals for video lottery, Veikkaus and Yggdrasil will supply slot games for the Finland-based real estate. It is worthy of note that Yggdrasil is a regular supplier of slot games for the Finnish operator, Veikkaus.

In full adherence to Finnish regulations, by the middle of this year, Yggdrasil's first retail slot games are meant to be published live in Finland territory. There has already been early evidence of the concept.

Statement from Yggdrasil

Yggdrasil's Global Market Operations Chief, Bjorn Krantz, has made some interesting comments on these developments. He said that his company is pleased to offer its content to Veikkaus within the retail environment. He said that the expansion of the partnership into the Retail space is a perfect fit that of its company's and Veikkaus’ omnichannel strategy.

The result of this is the ease of scaling the company's business operations, drive content familiarization, and also promote the improved value of a total player. He said the integration was a through one by Veikkaus, and the success of the process is credited to the effort of the teams. He stressed that his company looks forward to much more time in partnership and relationship with the team.

Veikkaus’ VP, in charge of Casino Games, Jan Hagelberg has also made some notable statements about the deal. He stated that Veikkaus is also known to deliver great quality in other services such as lottery and betting games, and in offering a top-quality player protection environment. He also said the company grants a whole casino portfolio, and it stands to be a renowned technology company in the gaming niche.

He stated that the gaming platform offered by the company is fully integrated and has a product suite with an integrated multichannel platform. He also said that the VLT distribution focused solely on the company's in-house content.

According to him, the company is ready to serve as a technical platform from which third party supply studios and online partners can supply games to retail customers. He finally reiterated that the company chose Yggdrasil to be its first partner to spearhead this due to its cutting-edge content.

Another reason why Yggdrasil was chosen was due to its tested-and-trusted technical capability, and also its ability to give quality in good time with the Veikkaus team. He also said his team is happy to expand its strong collaboration from the online space to cover retail as well.
